What we do Training An Overview of Child Trafficking, Modern Slavery & Exploitation This online course provides an overview of child trafficking, exploitation and modern slavery in the UK, supporting professionals to identify and respond to cases of child exploitation, and to build their understanding of the challenges victims face within contextual safeguarding and trauma-informed frameworks. Split into two modules, the first presents an in-depth understanding of child trafficking in the UK, including definitions, current data, the different forms of exploitation, the rights and entitlements of child victims, and the role of the National Referral Mechanism within a safeguarding framework. The second module outlines best practice in safeguarding and disruption responses to child trafficking and exploitation, exploring the impact of trauma on victims and effective use of trauma-informed approaches in direct work with young victims. This course is ideal for a broad range of professionals working in any services working with children vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation including social worker, Personal Advisors, foster carers, lawyers, youth justice professionals and more.
