What we do Training Care for child victims of trafficking: Safe accommodation and missing from care This course will first introduce the issue of child trafficking, modern slavery and exploitation for participants in module 1. Participants will learn about key legislation and safeguarding processes, including the NRM and the role it plays in the identification and protection of child victims of trafficking. In module 2 we consider the impact of trauma and ‘what works’ in providing safe care and safe accommodation for child victims of trafficking. Based on our influential research on trafficking and separated child going missing from care, this course will consider the particular issue of victims of trafficking going missing and give participants tools and approaches to prevent and respond to children going missing. The course also considers best practice in supporting young victims as they transition towards independence and adulthood. This course is ideal for those involved in the care of children at risk of trafficking, such as Looked After Child and fostering social workers, foster carers, care home staff and missing persons practitioners.
